Cape Fear

This body of work was made in my native land of North Carolina. Through it I grapple with similar themes as Southern literature: the marked interdependence that we have on each other regardless of social or personal differences, the presence of Post-Civil War guilt and poverty, and the land as a source of strength as well as a reminder of vulnerability. These photographs are not only about the players or the stage of the landscape, but about how the two are inextricably linked — how one is born out of the other.
